1 Introduction
OpenTime
How to pick up open positions that are not covered by other crew members (volunteering to perform duties) and also how to drop duties.
We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.
2 Detailed Explanation
Click
the Menu button.
Click
the Open time button.
Click
the Daily OT button.
You can choose which of these duties you want to pick up and expand any of the rows to see the details.
For the purposes of this demonstration, let's imagine that you are free on the dates around Sun 10th, so you are interested in picking up extra duties then.
Click
the Sun 10 row.
You can now see the details of what these duties entail.
Click
the NB5745 table
cell.
Click
the Pick up button.
Click
the Yes button.
Now that you know how to pick up duties from OpenTime, explore how to drop duties to OpenTime for other people to pick up.
Click
the Current roster button.
Click
the Scroll Down vertical
scroll bar.
For the purposes of this demonstration, let's imagine that you don't want to do your duties on Fri 1st.
Click
the Fri 1 row.
Click
the NB5745 cell.
Click
the Drop button.
Click
the Yes button.
This error message indicates that you cannot drop the duties back into OpenTime as there is not enough reserve amongst the crew members to cover it.
Let's try this again, using a different date, so you can see how a successful drop should look.
For this example, you already logged in again as a different person and scrolled down to the date that you want to give up (Thu 14th).
Click
the Thu 14 row.
Click
the NB5745 table
cell.
Click
the Drop button.
Click
the Yes button.
The dropped duties are now visible in OpenTime for other people to pick up if they want to.
Next, check the OpenTime duties to see the duties that you dropped there.
Click
the Daily OT button.
Let's now take a look at how you view the amount of reserve on the rostered period.
Click
the Net button.
The net reserve quota for all of the dates in the period are shown. When the net reserves are in green, this indicates that there are sufficient people on reserve. If they are in red, then there are insufficient people on reserve and nothing can be dropped back to OpenTime on these dates. This is when you should use the trade features in RAIDO.
In this period, you can see that the 17th to 19th Oct has insufficient people in reserve. Let's look at the next period as well.
Click
the Next period button.
And in this period the dates between 13th and 16th November have insufficient reserves.
