Requesting Duty Trade 

In this topic, you will learn how to request a trade for a rostered duty with another crewmember. 

We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.


Detailed Explanation

Requesting a Duty Trade

Interaction 1 Click the Menu button.

HINT 

You can request a duty trade for dates that are only in the future. Different airlines may have different rules on how close to check-in time that you are allowed to request a trade. Typically, this is a few hours before you are due to start.  

Interaction 1 Click the Trade board button.

Interaction 1 Click the SUN 17 MAR check box.

REMINDER 

You need to ensure that you are on the Current roster tab in order to trade rostered duties. This function is at the top of the Tradeboard screen and is not pictured.

 

Interaction 1 Click the Two way button.

This duty is over several days. We will select the entire duty; however, in some cases, you can request to trade a specific portion of it. This is configured according to your airline's rules of how an employee can trade shifts.

This green block highlights all duties between the starting base and the ending base for the activity, and the duties that you are requesting to trade. 

Interaction 1 Click the Human resource dropdown button.

We now need to select the crewmember that you want to request a trade with. 

Interaction 1 Click the 101499, WARD, KRISTEN list item.

You can scroll through the list and look for the person you want to trade with. You can also jump straight to the employee by typing in their employee number.

Interaction 1 Click the Note input field.

Use the Note input field to send a message to the person you are requesting a trade with. 

Interaction 2 Click the OK button.

For the purpose of this demonstration, we have inputted the note for you. 

Interaction 1 Click the TUE 19 MAR check box.

We are now viewing the other person's roster.

 For the purpose of this demonstration, we are opting to trade duties with the other person on a different date. You can trade duties with someone on the same date. As long as the duties are in the future, you can request a trade.  

Interaction 1 Click the Confirm button.

Interaction 1 Click the OK button.


Canceling a Duty Trade Request

Interaction 1 Click the Duty Trade Request check box.

This confirms that you have sent a Duty Trade request to someone else. The other crewmember will now see it on their account.

 Let's now cancel the request. 

Interaction 2 Click the Undo button.

Interaction 1 Click the OK button.

HINT 

If the request is not canceled and the other employee accepts it, the requestor receives a notification advising that it has been accepted. 

SUCCESS 

Congratulations! You have successfully submitted a Duty Trade request to someone else and cancelled it.
