When defining the roster designator, you need to define a given type. Some of these have a predefined behavior. Depending on what is expected from the roster designator, select the most appropriate type. The possible types are as follows:

  • Deadhead: This designator converts the assignment to a deadhead assignment. It will be also available as an option in the “Forced Assign” dialogue.
  • High Ranked: This designator will be used when using the option for creating high-rank assignments. You can only have one designator of this type. It will be also available as an option in the “Forced Assign” dialogue.
  • Instructor: To be used when the roster designator flags an instruction duty for an instructor. Rules around instructor duties need to be defined in the rules factory.
  • Landing: This roster designator will be used to flag the pilot who performed the landing. This is connected to the voyage report. Only one roster designator can be defined.
  • Low Ranked: This is the roster designator used for low-ranking operations when done manually or through the force assigned. There should be only one of this type.
  • New Onboard: To be linked to flag new onboard duties.
  • Passive: To be used on roster designators which will flag passive duties. These roster designators also appear as an option in the force assign dialogue.
  • PICUS: To be used on the roster designator which will flag PICUS duties.
  • Supernumerary: To be used on the roster designator that will flag supernumerary duties. This will be included in the force assign dialogue.
  • SupernumeraryV: To be used on the roster designator that will flag supernumerary V duties. This will be included in the force assign dialogue. Normally, supernumerary V only counts Duty time. The actual definition of this is done in the rules factory. If you pick a different code from the default V, your rules definition needs to be updated accordingly. This also applies if you add more than one code of this type.
  • Takeoff: This roster designator will be used to flag the pilot who performed the takeoff. This is connected to the voyage report. Only one roster designator can be defined.
  • Trainee: To be used when the roster designator flags an instruction duty for a trainee. Rules around trainee duties need to be defined in the rules factory.
  • Unknown: for any other type of designator.
